Hello! A Study Island assignment has been created! Go ahead, log in and try out this learning. I will continue to add assignments every so often, but this is a place you can navigate and explore as much as you want when you want to build and test your skills.
Beginning next week, we will complete a cold read (no prior discussion) on Think Central to assess how students are applying the reading strategies we learn with our weekly Journeys stories to other kinds of texts. There will also be a grammar check in with verb tenses and commas in a series. We are continuing our focus on transition words and phrases to help us recognize time, location and idea changes within a writing piece and speaking.
We also now begin our day with a reminder song "Just Behave" that is located on our Healthy Ways tab. By the end of the song (appr. 4 min) students need to have their gear in the lair and any paperwork from their transit folder in the correct place. After I play it a second time, Tonight's Practice is written in their planner and they have out any practice or other materials I mention I need to see because 9:15 starts our active learning!
I have their Practice Makes Possible books to do a more thorough review on the content and practices they have been completing and share thoughts. They have been progressing well!
