Journeyers! Thank you for reflecting with me on how being a 3rd Grader feels so far! Now, let's take a break, but remember this to help guide you into the next part of our journeys together.
An idea, skill or question that is new to us can be difficult or frustrating to let in to our brains. But once we do, we can play with it, talk about it and try to figure it out over and over again until we are more certain of why it came to be and how it helps us learn more using it.
It's like being told to tie your shoe for the first time by yourself. "WHOA! No way. You still do it for me please!" Yet, you did it! That's because you've watched somebody do it, know what is needed and probably have practiced it many times in many places before together. And even if it becomes untied again, which it will, you still tied it and can do it again with more confidence!... That's progress!
See you again Thursday, January 2nd, 2014 ;o)
Also parents, I believe our email system is being updated and I may not have access to respond until back in the building. Thank you for your wonderful seasonal gifts and involvement in your child's 3rd Grade Journeys!
Smiles!
